[Subject] and [Object]

Hi, there.

It's February 5th. One month passed before I knew it; there are only ten months and 20-odd days to go in 2010. How time flies!

Now, I'll give you a quiz about English today, so please give it a try, OK?

[Question 1]

What do you call the words that read the same forward and backwards?

[Question 2]

What does the word Senate have to do with the word bill in the sentence The Senate passed the bill ?

The answers are on the bottom of the page.

[Answers]

1. click here.

2. The two words are interchangeable. In this case, even though you interchange the subject with the object, the two sentences, The Senate passed the bill and The bill passed the Senate, have similar meanings.
